At a special board meeting on March 7, 2022, the La Crescent-Hokah School Board voted to select Melinda Crowley as the district’s next superintendent.
“We believe Melinda has the qualifications and skills needed to lead La Crescent-Hokah Public Schools. We feel she will come into the position with an open mind, ready to listen, and committed to moving the school district forward,” said Eric Morken, Board Chair. “We look forward to working with her.”
The School Board will be conducting contract negotiations with Melinda and a contract is expected to be approved by the School Board at a March 16, 2022, regular school board meeting.
The pending start date for Ms. Crowley will be July 1, 2022.

The La Crescent-Hokah School Board has selected two finalists to interview for the school district’s superintendent. The finalists are:
• Jeff Wilson,

The finalists were selected from a pool of seven applicants based on criteria established by the School Board. Four Candidates were interviewed today at the school district.
The school board has scheduled interviews for the finalists beginning at 4:00 pm on March 7, 2022.
All interviews will be held in the La Crescent-Hokah Secondary School Media Center and are open to the public.
March 8th is our walk-in conferences for middle school from 3:30pm to 7:30pm.

7:40 Update: Due to today's continuing inclement weather, reported hazardous road conditions, and forecast uncertainty, La Crescent-Hokah Public Schools will be closed. There will be no school or Weather Impacted Learning school today, Tuesday, February 22nd. All after-school activities, including practices and kids' company, are canceled.

Hockey has a HOME PLAYOFF game Tuesday, February 22nd starting at 7:00 p.m. JUST A REMINDER that there are NO PASSES allowed so everyone will need to pay at the door. Ticket prices that were set by MSHSL are $6.00 for students/seniors and $10.00 for adults. Come on out and cheer our hockey boys on as they take on Winona Cotter in the first round of playoffs!!!

- Winning 1st place overall for our division AND section
- Invitation to compete in the State Tournament on March 14th in St. Paul.

At tonight’s School Board meeting, the Board of Education approved a change in the School District’s “required” masking policy. Effective Thursday, February 17, masks will be “recommended” for students, staff, and visitors in all School District buildings. Masks will continue to be required on all school buses and school vehicles per the federal requirement.

La Crescent-Hokah Public Schools welcomes Eriah Hayes as their new Activities Director. Hayes has been the Varsity Hockey coach at La Crescent-Hokah Public Schools since the fall of 2019. Hayes replaces Josh Mallicoat, who has transitioned into the full-time Secondary School Assistant Principal position as part of a restructuring of the Secondary School administrative team. Board Chair Eric Morken said, "We are thrilled to have Eriah return to his alma mater to join the La Crescent-Hokah leadership team. The skills and experience gained from Eriah’s journey in the professional sports world combined with his natural drive to help young people reach their goals is a major asset to our district's students."
