March is Athletic Training Month!
Megan Richason is La Crescent-Hokah Public School's Athletic Trainer. Megan provides absolute top-notch athletic training coverage for our District athletes. Megan specializes in management, prevention, and recovery process of injured athletes. Megan also provides a vital communication link between our athletes, coaches, physicians, and families. Megan goes above and beyond for everyone she works with, and we are fortunate to have Megan in our District!

2nd grade students completed a mapping unit, creating a map of the United States, showing the main rivers, mountain ranges, plains, oceans, deserts using food! Awesome job!

At a special board meeting on March 7, 2022, the La Crescent-Hokah School Board voted to select Melinda Crowley as the district’s next superintendent.
“We believe Melinda has the qualifications and skills needed to lead La Crescent-Hokah Public Schools. We feel she will come into the position with an open mind, ready to listen, and committed to moving the school district forward,” said Eric Morken, Board Chair. “We look forward to working with her.”
The School Board will be conducting contract negotiations with Melinda and a contract is expected to be approved by the School Board at a March 16, 2022, regular school board meeting.
The pending start date for Ms. Crowley will be July 1, 2022.

The La Crescent-Hokah School Board has selected two finalists to interview for the school district’s superintendent. The finalists are:
• Jeff Wilson,
• Melinda Crowley
The finalists were selected from a pool of seven applicants based on criteria established by the School Board. Four Candidates were interviewed today at the school district.
The school board has scheduled interviews for the finalists beginning at 4:00 pm on March 7, 2022.
All interviews will be held in the La Crescent-Hokah Secondary School Media Center and are open to the public.
March 8th is our walk-in conferences for middle school from 3:30pm to 7:30pm.
7th and 8th grade solo and ensemble festival was held this past Saturday at Logan Middle School in La Crosse. ALL of La Crescent's entrees scored a one ranking, which is the top ranking.
