NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON CONSIDERATION AND APPROVAL OF PROPERTY TAX ABATEMENT NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the School Board of Independent School District No. 300 (La Crescent-Hokah), Minnesota (the District) will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at 6:00 p.m., at the La Crescent-Hokah Elementary School, 504 S Oak St, in La Crescent, Minnesota, to consider granting an abatement of the property taxes imposed by the District (the Proposed Property Tax Abatement) on all properties within the District boundaries. The purpose of granting the Proposed Property Tax Abatement is to provide funds to finance parking lot improvement projects districtwide which will enable District residents to continue to conveniently and safely access District facilities. The total estimated amount of the Proposed Property Tax Abatement by the District is $1,780,245 over fifteen (15) years. All who wish to be heard as to the Proposed Property Tax Abatement will be given an opportunity to express their views at the time of the public hearing or may file written comments with the Superintendent prior to the public hearing.

Come see our student work at the SE MN HS Art Show!!! Each participating district was allowed 10-12 pieces of work from grades 9-12. 21 regional school districts are participating this year! This is the 11th annual Southeast Minnesota High School Art Show (with a few years off for Covid). This show is for display only, with no judging or awards. Special thanks to Kevin Cardille for organizing this event and Gary Kuphal for helping pick up artwork for La Crescent-Hokah. The art show is open from Wednesday, February 21 – March 19 Sunday, February 26 - Opening Reception 1 - 3:00 PM Monday, March 20, show take down Rochester Art Center Hours: Wednesday - Sunday: 11 am – 4 pm; Closed Monday and Tuesday Admission Rates: Student Artists, their families, and guests get free admission to the SE MN High School Art show during the event. If you would like to view the rest of the exhibitions in the Art Center, a donation of $5 per person is encouraged. The Rochester Art Center is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit, and every little bit helps!
