Kristin Elsen is a new social studies teacher at La Crescent-Hokah High School. She is a 2001 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in Broadfield Social Studies with a history minor. While Kristin grew up just down the road, on a dairy farm outside of Rushford, Minnesota, her teaching career has been exclusively in Wisconsin. She taught for three years at Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau High School in Galesville from 2002-2005. She then stayed home with her children for eight years before returning to teaching as a day-to-day sub for five years in Holmen, Onalaska and G-E-T districts. From 2018-2023 Kristin taught US history at Aquinas in La Crosse, WI.
Kristin, her husband John, and three children have resided in Holmen, Wisconsin for 20 years. Her children range in age from 17-22. She enjoys spending free time in nature and has a passion for visiting state and national parks.
Kristin has a true passion for her subject matter and loves sharing fascinating historical stories with students. She is continually seeking out new resources and researching primary sources to bring the best possible content to her students. Kristin is excited to join the Lancer family and looks forward to building relationships with students, families and community partners throughout the district.
