Welcome, new staff

Welcome, Señora Leah Wyland!

Señora Leah Wyland has joined the Lancer family as a part-time HS Spanish teacher.

Sra. Wyland has twenty years of teaching experience in Spanish at all levels 6-12 and a background in Project and Standards-Based Learning. She has taught high school Spanish at Sparta HS, middle and high school Spanish at Lincoln Middle School in La Crosse, and, most recently, middle and high school Spanish, Social Studies, and English for La Crosse Polytechnic School (also for The School District of La Crosse).

Sra. Wyland has a Lifetime Teaching License for the State of Wisconsin and was nominated as a Kohl Fellowship Teacher during her time in Sparta. Over the past two decades, she enjoyed being the head coach for both girls and boys tennis for Sparta HS, and being lead advisor for Student Council, Homecoming, and World Cultures Club, and was group lead for multiple student trips to Spain and other European countries.

In her free time, Sra. enjoys cooking without recipes, traveling with her history-geek husband and three daughters, going to U2, Coldplay, and The Head & The Heart concerts all over, and spending time with her family and friends at her family’s cabin in Wisconsin’s Great Northwoods.

Sra. has been and always will be inspired by the underdog, those who do their best without anyone watching or expecting anything in return, and those who work hard for what they want or have got.

Sra. Wyland is most motivated by the concept of Servant Leadership personally and professionally, having taken several courses at Viterbo University and is inspired by the desire to provide an authentic sense of belonging and community to the students and families she works with.
