1.  I can  use my knowledge of letter-sound correspondences (phonics), how words can be divided into syllables, and word parts to read accurately.    

2.  I can read read grade-level text with understanding.

3.  I can read aloud grade-level text with fluency (accuracy, good rate, and expression).  

4.  I can use the text to understand or self-correct my understanding and word recognition.
