The Middle School is in the process of continuing benchmark testing in our ADSIS programs for math and reading. We use FASTBRIDGE which is the new assessment that was purchased through HVED. We will be learning more about the data that provides and how it can be used to improve student learning.
We completed our fundraiser for the Animal Shelter (Penny drive). They joined us at our student recognition assembly and we gave them a check for over $200.00. The advisories will be starting their annual food drive in the next couple of weeks. Both the middle and the high schools will have the opportunity to hear a speaker on January 19th. He has a very inspiring message about being you and finding your strengths. He relates his life experiences to the students and is very motivating and encouraging.
The high school is finishing second semester and will be taking final exams on the 18th and 19th. Second semester is starting on the 23rd of January. Winter seasons are in full swing and Mr. Copp has had a few challenging weather days with our early releases. Our basketball teams will be competing in the Coulee Classic on Saturday January 28th. This will be held at the Civic Center in La Crosse.
I met with our Professional Learning Community Leaders last week to help sharpen our focus moving forward for this year. Here is a link to what our team discussed. This helps clarify all of the obligations our teaching staff have moving forward.
I will be attending the MASSP Winter conference during this month on January 18-20th. Good luck to the new board members and thank you to the outgoing members as well.
