Message from principal smith
Hello! I am excited and proud to be a part of the La Crescent - Hokah School district. I have been serving as an administrator here since 2012. I began as the Middle School Principal and in the fall of 2015 our district combined my duties to include the High School as well. We are a 5-12 Secondary school and both buildings are connected on the same campus.
I have been in education since the fall of 1985. I was a science teacher in the Eau Claire, Wisconsin school district for many years and then also served as a guidance counselor. Through that time I was also involved in coaching athletics. I was a head coach in Track and Field and Girls Basketball as well as a varsity assistant in Football.
I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Broadfield Science, minors in Biology and Coaching from the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse in 1985. I went on to earn my Master of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin - Stout in Secondary Counseling in 1994. In 2010 I was awarded an Education Specialist degree from Winona State University in K-12 Administration.
ISD 300 is a very forward thinking district with a number of educational visions that promote student learning. We have been embedded in professional learning communities and consistently use staff development to train on and promote the latest trends in K-12 education. I hope that you find your time with us challenging and rewarding. GO LANCERS!
