Early Childhood Education
Welcome to Early Childhood Education services at La Crescent-Hokah Public Schools! Our district is proud to offer a variety of programs, services, and informational resources for our families with children ages birth-five.
Discovery Preschool: A School Readiness Program is brought to you by La Crescent-Hokah Community Education, a program of La Crescent-Hokah Public Schools and a proud partner of Semcac Head Start, an equal opportunity program. We offer both 3K and 4K inclusive classrooms. Serving children ages 3 and 4 as of September 1 of the respective year of service. Enrollment options available range from morning only to full days, 2-5 days per week.
Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) is based on the idea that parents provide their child's first and most significant learning environment and parents are children's first and most enduring teachers. ECFE works to support you as a parent/caregiver and to strengthen and empower families. The goal is to enhance the ability of all parents and other family members to provide the best possible environments for their child's learning and development.
Early Childhood Screening is a quick and simple check of how your child is growing and developing. Between the ages of 3 and 4, screening can detect possible health or learning concerns, so that children can get help before they start school.
Getting ready for Kindergarten is a very exciting time in a child's life, but it can also be filled with worry and anxiety for both parents and children. Please check out this page of resources that we have put together to assist you and your child in preparing for Kindergarten.
