MS. Cassidy's Bio:

I teach kindergarten through fourth grade children who have various special education needs.  These needs may include the core academic areas of reading/writing and mathematics, organizational skills, personal and social behavior, and physical supports to access the curriculum.  Each of my students has an Individual Education Plan that describes the goals and supports he/she needs in order to grow toward independence as a learner.

I joined the teaching staff of LaCrescent-Hokah Elementary School in September, 1995.  Prior to that time, I worked in various teaching and related positions:  Middle School and elementary special education teacher in Caledonia, MN, and surrounding communities; kindergarten teacher in Winona, MN; St. Mary's University, College of Education instructor; Program Director/Staff Trainer for Houston County Group Homes (now called ABLE, Inc.); and adjunct faculty at Winona State University Department of Special Education.

My Bachelor of Science degree is in Elementary and Special Education, Mild/Moderate Cognitive Disabilities, and I hold a Master of Science degree in Specific Learning Disabilities.

In my life outside of school, I have numerous musical and other artistic pursuits.  I have a passion for supporting adults with disabilities to live independently and fully included in their communities.
