Five By Design’s Club Swing

 From the frenetic-paced opening of Benny Goodman’s “Bugle Call Rag” to the show’s blockbuster finale of Louis Prima’s “Sing, Sing, Sing,” Club Swing celebrates the songs, events and personalities that defined American popular culture during the Swing era. Whether performing their seductive arrangement of Cole Porter’s “Begin the Beguine,” the madcap parody of Spike Jones’ “Cocktails for Two,” or the lush romance of Nat King Cole’s “Mona Lisa,” Five By Design enchants audiences by deftly blending music and theatrics effortlessly. So check your coat and grab a seat for a night of unparalleled delight at the fabulous Club Swing!
 
 
Peculiar Alice
Jump through the Looking Glass and into Wonderland with this romantic retelling of the classic Alice in Wonderland. This world premiere dance theatre experience by Behling & Company combines theatre and dance into an evening of storytelling you'll never forget. Music by local artists Parker Fischer of Nations and composer Kathryn Williams help tell this childhood favorite in a whole new way. Using both CD and live music, this evening will bring out the child in us all. Behling & Company was founded by Jonathan Lamb in am effort to bring more dance theatre to the Coulee region. Betty Behling was a dancer in the vaudeville circuit and Jonathan's grandmother. This company named after her is a way to pay honor to her talent.

 Information

 

The La Crescent High School Fine Arts Center is a spacious auditorium with a seating capacity of 604. It offers a 50 foot long stage capable of handling performances by small and large groups and contains three stage lighting tracks in addition to a catwalk. We are located at 1301 Lancer Blvd., La Crescent, MN 55947.
